Write and Manifest!
We all have learnt tons of practices about mindfulness and well being in general. Its all over the internet. The chase of perfecting your morning routine is real. Now I usually don't do this but I tried it yesterday and it really worked, or actually the right way of putting it would be that I put it to work.
The practice was rather simple, write down five things that you want, big or small, immediate or distant. I decided to give it a try as I sipped on my morning coffee. At the top of my list was that I wanted to experience a slow morning. Needless to say my usual work mornings are pretty fast. Then I forgot all about the list and carried on with my day.
Luckily the next day as in today, is a holiday. My body clock which is synced with my alarm woke me up at the routine wake up time. Thankfully I had slept on time yesterday so there was minimal resistance to waking up. I had the full liberty to sleep in today and I even considered it for a brief moment. But then some how I thought that this is the morning when I can manifest that slow morning that I really wanted with myself. And I did everything where my heart went without judgement. Coffee, stretching, a slow walk, tea and toast, journaling, meditation, reading and more.
Now obviously this sounds pretty simple and I could have done this on so many other holidays as well. What was different this time? I think it was two things:
1. Writing it down made it real. Like it mattered and it was not just a random floating thought. I suddenly and subconsciously felt responsible without feeling pressured or obligated to do it.
2. Choose wisely and supplement it with action. Doesnt have to be perfect. Just go in that direction.
Lastly, also pay close attention to what makes sense to you. The conventional notions sold to us may not resonate with us. Its not about right or wrong, because that will vary with your perception. But be bold to do it differently and yet be unbothered. Waking up early on a holiday and getting so much done is not sold as a perfect holiday morning versus just sleeping in late, also nothing wrong with sleeping in late either. It just circles back to, "what do you want?" SO......you do you.
Hope you have great day!
